Location Lists


A location list is an ordered set of locations. It provides a convenient way of grouping several locations together for transfer operations, dependency checking, or browsing. For example, when there is more than one live location to which the software is released, they can all be placed in a location list called LIVE.

When specifying a 'to' location in a transfer, it is possible to select a location list instead of a location, in which case the object version(s) will be transferred to all of the locations it contains. Similarly, a drag-drop transfer onto a location list folder initiates a transfer to all the locations it contains.

Grouping locations into lists has a variety of uses. The following screenshot gives one example. Here, the 'SAMPLES' location list contains a set of locations that are placed in the sequence that the user typically uses them:
