KB0126

The Change Request Dialog does not Display Correctly with Internet Explorer 5

Applies to: Late versions of VC/m 2.4

Symptoms

On some installations of Internet Explorer 5, the change request dialog in the VC/m web interface does not display correctly. All the text is unformatted and is on the left of the window.

Solution

This is caused by the browser having an out-of-date XML processor. Some versions of Internet Explorer 5.x were shipped by Microsoft with a non-standard XML processor. The following URL can be used to check which version you have: http://www.bayes.co.uk/xml/index.xml?/xml/utils/msxml_sniffer.htm

You need to have at least version 3.0 of MSXML.DLL installed in "replace" mode not "side-by-side" mode.

Search Microsoft's site for instructions for downloading and installing the MSXML version that you need: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp
